Kibi Momoka (吉備桃香) is a sword-bearing student at Tenchi Academy, and Hayate's roommate in the first series. Her shinyuu is Inugami Isuzu.
She speaks Okayama-ben.
Character[]
Momoka is earnest, rambunctious, and tough, as befitting the image of a person from Okayama. While rough-edged and somewhat confrontational, she is also kind-hearted and respectful toward her seniors. She appears to be a strong loyalist of President Amachi.
She came to Tenchi with the intention of pairing with her childhood friend, Takarada Riona. However, upon arriving, she learned that Riona had already partnered with someone else, Kiriya Ouka.
While she lags behind Hayate in her sword abilities, she appears at least to be a step ahead of her main rival (and most cherished/hated friend-enemy), Kijimiya Otoha.

Volume 1[]
- Shows the newly-arrived Hayate around the school, explaining the Hoshitori to her (and, simultaneously, to the reader). Also tells her the name of a third-year student they see in action, Mudou Ayana (19-26, 33-34).
- Awoken from peaceful sleep by a panicked Hayate, who details her sudden urgent need of money to pay back Dandelion Garden's debts. Momoka helps get her set up for the Hoshitori and look for a shinyuu, but rebuffs Hayate's offer that the two of them pair up (39-41, 44-45, 47-48).

- Explains Ayana's situation to Hayate (59-60).
- Predicts a Hoshitori bell while sitting in a classroom windowsill, which comes later while she is in class (108-109, 111).
